...there's such a lot of world to see...

20x200

I just discovered 20x200, and I think it’s great.  It basically is an outlet for artists to sell and buyers to buy limited edition artwork.  The best part is the price, which starts at just $20.  My current favorite: Lauren DiCioccio’s mylar inkblot prints.

P.S. This is Vogue’s List of Contributors page (so fun).  Check out 20x200 to learn more about the artist or to shop around.

Have You Heard of Clare Vivier?

The Clare Vivier collection of leather totes and sacs is simple and pretty, but I am drooling over the clutches.  I love the smooth and pebbled leather in rich jewel tones. They look perfect for a stroll through a farmers market on a Sunday afternoon or for dinner at a little Italian restaurant.

Diets Made Fun

So in an effort to cleanse my body after weeks of stress eating and gross dining hall food, I have decided to try a vegan lifestyle.  Cookies, cake, ice cream out.  Fruits, veggies, tofu in.  Being vegan doesn’t leave much room for dessert, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still have a sweet tooth.  This popsicle maker from Williams-Sonoma will definitely help to curb any cravings I may have.  Fresh fruit and even soymilk for something creamier…sign me up!

Shop ‘Till You Drop…Then Frame!

So I have been a bit MIA the last month or so with exams and studying, but now school is over at last! And I am already thinking about DIY projects and decor for my room next year.  This is definitely one of the cutest ideas I’ve seen.

Diamonds, and Diamonds, and Diamonds…Oh My!

Stop dead in your tracks diamonds by Diamond in the Rough.  I don’t mean to alarm you, but the last necklace is 106.88 carats.

Spring Fever

They may be colorful and shamelessly bright, but Lilly Pulitzer dresses are a staple of spring. And there is no better way to officially bring in spring than by donning the medley of pinks, blues, greens, and yellows that comprise the Pulitzer palette.

The Perfect “Just Because” Gifts

Yet another tip from the bank of things my mother taught me: giving and receving “just because” gifts are the best.  Of course it is fun to get a birthday present, but there is nothing like opening your mailbox or looking in your room and seeing a little something…just because.  Here are a few good ones, all from The Curiosity Shoppe.

Clockwise from top left: Faux Wishbones to “send, share, break apart”; 3D Drawing Pad; modified “The Best” name-tags; West Coast Seedbombs

On My Wishlist

During our quick stay in New York, we made a trip to the Guggenheim.  The collections were great, the architecture was amazing, and I left with inspiration to buy a beautiful Kandinsky print.  But it is the gift shop that I can’t stop thinking about.  Actually it is a very specific item in the gift shop that I couldn’t put down while browsing: Bucky Balls. Little metallic, magnetic balls that can be shaped into anything.  They are so much fun to play with and are a perfect mindless addiction.

“Shop the World, Flaunt Your Wheres”

I just discovered a very cool website, and it is definitely one worth sharing to those who could use a little style inspiration. L-ATITUDE let’s you shop clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories by destination, product, designer, and even activity.  They basically pick out your wardrobe for a particular location or event.  Plus, their brands are international, unique, and definitely not overdone.  One of my favorite finds: Letters Couture from Hong Kong. This fun jewelry line lets you customize your necklace with words, quotes, fonts, and gems (you can dot your I’s with a diamond!!). Explore here.
